Senior Press Officer - Fix Term Contract

£32000 - £36000 per annum

Charity Talent are recruiting for a Senior Press Officer, to work for an animal Charity based in Central London.

This is a 12 month Fix Term Contract. As the Senior Press Officer you will Proactively manage reactive media enquiries, researching and preparing statements for approval, briefing spokespeople co-ordinating and attending media visits when required. Ensure the Charity proactively comments on relevant issues in the media.

Assists with the planning of integrated media campaigns, lead on stand-alone PR initiatives, writing compelling releases, creating a media-friendly package of case studies, images, videos etc, and selling this in successfully to the media. Manage existing and potential new celebrity relationships, maintaining strong relations with our key supporters and placing celebrity supporter-led stories across all media.

Supports the work of other departments in relation to their strategic communications needs including assessing spokesperson suitability. Co-ordinates the media training programme for the charity.

Takes an active role in co-ordinating and supporting the communications around crisis management issues, in consultation with senior managers. Supports senior managers in keeping crisis management documents and collateral up to date. Responsible for keeping on top of trends across all media and proactive in suggesting how these trends can be utilised. Cultivates and develops relationships with key journalists and bloggers in order to keep media lists current.


Responsible for sharing out of hours responsibilities including the press office mobile rota.
Represents the Communications and Digital team at internal and external meetings, for instance in the induction of new staff.

Experience:

Demonstrable PR experience at a senior level and adept at developing a sustained groundswell of media coverage.
Experience of working in a busy communications team with a press office function.
Significant organisational and time-management skills to be able to prioritise and juggle reactive and proactive work.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high levels of attention to detail.
Proven ability to make things happen with an innate sense of urgency and initiative, and ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
Working knowledge of dealing with crisis management.
Experience on preparing key spokespeople for media interviews and delivering key messages to the media.

Communications Administrator

£12 - £13 per hour

Charity Talent are recruiting for a Communications Administrator to work for a Youth Charity based in Mayfair.

This is an asap start and a ongoing contract. As the Communications Assistant you will support the Communications Team with administrative support. You will respond to general enquiries. You will monitor the Communications In-box.

You will support with content creation for interviews - research and transcribing. You will also source images for their website and news stories.

Assist the team with chasing content from the Education Team. Monitor Google alerts and sharing links. As the Communications Administrator you will be the main point of contact for the Charity Commission and Gorkana.

Other responsibilities will include booking meetings, circulating meeting action points. You will be responsible for

ad-hoc research for Dialogue articles and online publications. Manage the print production schedule and this includes editing and organising the design and uploading on to website of materials.
