Job Description

Charity Talent are recruiting for a Head of People for an International Charity with an office in London and 14 other countries. Can you demonstrate that you have previous experience within the day to day running of a team and can provide strategic leadership across staff wellbeing, human reason, training, and development? If so, then you could be perfect for my client. This role is a 12-month FTC maternity cover with the possibility to extend.

The Role: As the Head of People, you will have 2 direct line reports (HR partner and HR officer) and report to the Director of Finance and Operations. Specific tasks include:

  • Providing organisation-wide leadership on HR, people related issues and policies.
  • Accountable for representing HR and advocating for HR amongst organisation leaders.
  • Leading, managing, and developing an inclusive and highly competent Talent and HR team.
  • Build a robust recruitment strategy, focused on diversity, equity and inclusion that is aligned with the charity initiative.
  • Provide coaching/advise to senior leaders on team development and key organisational and management issues.
  • Develop and manage the multi-year HR budget, ensuring expenditure does not exceed agreed levels.
  • Provide senior level HR advice and information to meet needs and guide strategic and operational decision-making of charity Board, Executive Team, and managers
  • Developing HR strategy and operational plan, policies, procedures, and support for sound HR management at all levels across the organisation.
  • Oversee communication with the Finance Team on people changes which affect payroll and annual performance increments.
  • Be the first point of contact for expert advice to London managers and staff on all queries including Performance Management.
  • Drive the wellbeing agenda for staff.
  • Manage a department budget including learning and development budget.

The Candidate: To be considered for the Head of People role you will need to possess the following:

  • International experience of an organisation. You will be dealing with the UK as well as their international and national offices.
  • A developed understanding of core HR processes and policies.
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with a wide range of people, including across cultures and with those at a distance.
  • Charity sector experience (desirable)
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, personally and in previous leadership positions.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience and people management experience.
  • CIPD or equivalent qualified (desirable)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Temp People Team Administrator
    £12 - £14 per hour

    Are you a talented Team Administrator or are you striving to be one? Can you demonstrate that you have experience of supporting a team and dealing with a wide range of administrative tasks? If so then you could be perfect for my client, a Social Welfare Charity based in London.

    This is a 3 month temp role with the possibility to be extended and to start ASAP. Working from home with 1-2 days in office near Bank.

    The Role: In this Team Administrator role you'll report to the Office Manager and will be primarily responsible for supporting with every day running of charity. Specific tasks include:

    • Manage the team email inbox.
    • Assist the Recruitment Advisors to ensure that the recruitment and selection administration is carried out in policies and procedures.
    • This includes but is not limited to: sending shortlisting to hiring managers, inviting candidates and running reports.
    • Be the first point of contact and be responsible for managing all general enquiries via phone and in person.
    • Assist the team to collate and issue documentation and correspondence including shortlisting, invites and interview.
    • Updating the database accurately.
    • Ensuring key deadlines are met such as shortlisting dates.
    • Play a part in contributing to and supporting projects.

    The Candidate: To be considered for the Team Administrator role you will need to possess experience of working in a customer focused role with strong administrative skills.

    Additionally, it's crucial that you possess the following:

    • Undertaking administrative duties.
    • Having prior onboarding experience that would be an advantage
    • Experience of developing good working relationships with colleagues or customers.

  • Membership Campaign Officer

    Are you a talented Membership Campaign Officer, or are you striving to be one? Can you demonstrate that you have experience developing existing members and implementing direct marketing campaigns? If so then you could be perfect for my client, an Environmental Charity.

    This is an ASAP temp role for the next 2 months with possibility to extend and go perm. This role will be hybrid working up to 2 days in the London office near Liverpool Street Station (EC2M) .

    The Role: In this Membership Campaign Officer role, you will complete the following tasks:

    • Plan and project manage a range of activities/communications at the same time from start to finish.
    • Work with the manager on the marketing and promotion of legacy and in-memory giving through various media including print and digital.
    • Develop good understanding of team's income and expenditure budgets.
    • Proactive cross-team working with key stakeholders to ensure opportunities are maximised
    • Analyse campaign results to determine their effectiveness.
    • Develop new messages to acquire and retain members through a range of channels.
    • Develop and update all process documents for all activities as necessary.
    • Support colleagues and other teams as needed.

    The Candidate: To be considered for the Membership Campaign Officer role you will need to demonstrable proven experience of campaign management across different channels.

    Additionally, it's crucial that you possess the following:

    • A proven track record in planning and delivering successful direct marketing.
    • Understanding and experience of audience segmentation.
    • Ability to communicate effectively.
    • Strong supporter/donor relationship-building skills.
    • Ability to work accurately and to a high standard whilst managing multiple deadlines.
